On-Site Audiometric Testing
Employees are tested in one of our mobile testing
trucks by a CAOHC certified technician. Tremetrics RA-650
Group Microprocessor Audiometers and RA-500 Microprocessor
Audiometers are used to conduct audiometric testing. Pure-tone
air conduction hearing threshold testing is done in accordance with
acceptable audiometric procedures and government standards.
All audiometers receive an exhaustive calibration annually to meet
OSHA and ANSI standards. Audiograms are performed annually in
accordance with OSHA's hearing conservation standard, then
compared to the baseline test to monitor any changes in the
employees hearing.
All testing is supervised & reviewed
by our full-time staff Audiologist.
Noise Surveys (Area Sampling and Personal Monitoring)
OSHA requires that any employee exposed to noise levels of 85 dBA
for at least eight consecutive hours be included in a hearing conservation program. The two procedures for measuring noise in the workplace are:
area sampling and personal monitoring. Area sampling measures an area
or machine and is conducted with Quest sound level meters.
Personal monitoring is individual employee-specific and is conducted
with the Quest Q300 dosimeters. Concise, descriptive results are
presented with specific recommendations for follow-up action.
Hearing Conservation Training Programs and Materials
Hearing conservation training programs are offered to assist your
company in meeting its annual training requirements. In this
program, we educate your employees on the dangers of noise,
the purpose of audiometric testing, and the correct way to use and
care for their hearing protection devices.
You can choose from a variety of training sessions:
small group, individual pretest mini sessions, large group,
or train-the-trainer programs. Educational materials,
such as brochures, are also available.
Customized Hearing Protection
Our Audiologist will come to the job-site to make molds of
each employee's ears to create custom fitted hearing protectors.
Plugs are made with a soft medical-grade silicone and fit very
comfortably, therefore are more likely to be worn consistently.
If radio communication is imperative, earplugs with a radio
connector are available.
Solid earplugs have a NRR of 29.

being sent back to your company.
Results are sent in a 3-ring binder,
divided into sections for easy follow-up,
